ABOUT SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS
Electronics giant Samsung opened their new Africa HQ in Sandton in 2013. This office is the hub of their operations in Sub-Saharan Africa and is staffed by around 1,000 employees with a floor space of 12,000m2.
Clayton Communications was commissioned to deliver six sound masking systems across three floors in large office spaces with a high concentration of employees in the client’s new building.
The sound masking systems were delivered on time, within budget and according to our design and specification. The system consists of:
- 253x sound masking loudspeakers.
- 6x 31-bank graphic equalisers.
- 6x white noise generator.
- 8x power amplifier.
- 2300 metres of cabling.
Our project managers worked with the customer to install a system that was programmed and commissioned to provide sound masking throughout the office spaces, focusing on potential high noise areas. Our engineer optimally programmed the system with all acoustic properties of the office areas factored into his calculations.
The sound masking systems have provided the client’s employees with a more accommodating working environment by reducing the perceived ambient noise levels. Staff are less distracted by ambient noise, and so are able to concentrate on their work. Samsung benefit from their staff’s higher productivity levels.
