ABOUT THE TICKETPRO DOME
The Tickepro Dome is one of the largest event venues in South Africa, with a seating capacity of 20,000 people. Major events are held year round, with headline international performers regularly opting for the venue for their Gauteng shows. The Ticketpro Dome also employs 400 people and is occupied 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
Clayton Communications was commissioned to undertake a full system evaluation of the existing smoke detection system in the venue. We are also responsible for the phased long term refurbishment project of the system and the weekly maintenance. Full and thorough maintenance services are required of Clayton, as a trusted service provider, to ensure full compliance with safety regulations in this critical and dynamic venue.
The maintenance work is covered by one of Clayton Communications’ dedicated maintenance teams and the work consists of:
- Maintenance of over 600 devices across eight fire panel loops.
- Compiling data from event logs for monthly reports to Dome management.
- Rapid response to out-of-hours callout requests.
- Redesign the system for any areas of the venue that are being renovated and changed.
- Replacement of end-of-life devices.
The smoke detection system is run throughout the main venue area, management offices, tenant offices, hospitality suites, restaurants and bars, as well as all outbuildings. Because of the venue type, the security duty manager can use a keyswitch to change the functionality of the system during concerts with pyrotechnics to avoid false alarms.
